Dynamic Purchasing System Supervisor

The Supply Chain Division in Waltham Forest is responsible for taking a strategic view of the Council’s supply chain, internal and external, ensuring value for money contracts are established, strategic contracts managed effectively and performance and business intelligence used to manage external suppliers and challenge internal services.

An opportunity has arisen for a Dynamic Purchasing System Supervisor in an award winning team to be responsible for supporting the Procurement / Supply Chain function, in managing all elements of the Council’s Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS).

This role is required to support the Council’s drive for digital solutions, to promote compliant, dynamic procurement exercises, whilst providing high quality customer service, a role which predominantly focuses on five key areas;

  1. a) Administration of the whole Source to Pay system
  2. b) Procurement of multiple diverse contracts, utilising the DPS
  3. c) Contract Management of the DPS Platform provider
  4. d) Supply Chain Management
  5. e) Opportunity identification

Working within Procurement’s Operational team, the post-holder will be responsible for ensuring the Council’s Dynamic Purchasing System works effectively and that users are supported accordingly. 

This role will involve engaging with internal and external stakeholders at all levels when providing support on the Dynamic Purchasing system. This contact will include face to face meetings, communication via phone / email, delivering training sessions and hosting contract management meetings with the DPS Platform provider, as well as interaction with the wider DPS Supply Chain and Public body customers.

Working as part of a cross functional team, across both the London Borough of Waltham Forest and the London Borough of Redbridge, the successful candidate will understand the importance of effective procurement systems in an organisation and have the ability to present, prepare and interpret information.

We’re looking for someone who has a minimum Level 3 CIPS or awareness of / experience of working in a procurement environment.
