Vacancy Description

Campaigns Officer P02

It’s an exciting time to join us in Waltham Forest. Next year, we will be in the spotlight as the first ever London Borough of Culture for 2019. This accolade will not only bring a magnificent programme of cultural events and activities to the borough, it will put us on the map and ensure a lasting legacy for our businesses and residents.

And our year as first London Borough of Culture 2019 is just one of the many changes driving Waltham Forest as the place to be. Our ambitious regeneration and growth programme presents an opportunity to shape the borough, accelerate growth, generate jobs and bring more investment. And teams across the Council are driving tech changes and innovations that are having a positive impact for our residents and businesses.

We are recruiting for a Campaigns Officer that will work across a portfolio of service areas and will deliver powerful campaigns activity around the things our residents tell us are most important. From keeping the borough clean and safe, ensuring a decent roof over everyone’s head and providing a quality of life for everyone.

We are looking for someone that really gets to know their audience, has great writing skills and is a strategic thinker that can use their experience and understanding of marketing communications to reach the right people with the right messages.  We’re looking for someone that enjoys taking a hands-on approach and uses their digital knowhow to create engaging content and, award-winning innovative and creative campaigns. You’ll be able to use data and insight to understand what makes people tick and help change the way they think, feel and act.

The campaigns team sits at the heart of the Council, and moves at a fast-pace. This role will give the right candidate the opportunity to make a real impact quickly, develop their skills and experience, and have the confidence to bring their creativity and ideas to our ambitious and highly-motivated team.

The Council is committed to meeting its 4 equality objectives contained within the Waltham Forest Council Equality Plan 2012/2015:

- Promoting equality of opportunity

- Opposing all forms of discrimination, intolerance and disadvantage
