Senior Public Health Intelligence Analyst (PO7)

The role  

We are recruiting for a Senior PHI Analyst to join the Council’s Insight team, on a permanent basis. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading the Council’s PHI function, providing public health information, data analysis and interpretation to support business planning, policy development, performance monitoring and evaluation in public health.

You will be experienced in using advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of epidemiology and statistics to analyse and interpret varied and complex information. You will lead on the provision of accurate and up to date public health information from a diverse range of data systems and sources; assist in the management of statistical resources and critically appraise academic publications and local and national policies to influence the commissioning of services.

Working as part of the Council’s Insight team and reporting to the Director of Public Health you will support the development of public health projects that require advanced analytical, computational statistics and modelling skills. In doing so, you will manage relationships with internal and external partners in multi-agency work to reduce health inequalities in the borough.

The Insight Team

You will be part of the newly established Insight Team. We play a key role in informing the decisions that make transformation and service delivery happen and have quickly grown into a vital and respected service. We bring a broad set of skills ranging from data visualisation to spatial mapping and public consultation. The projects we work on are diverse and often at the leading edge of Council policy.
