Senior Reablement Officer

Waltham Forest Adult Social Care is looking for a Senior Reablement Officer to join the Reablement Team.

Our purpose as a Reablement Team is to work with service users to improve their independence and quality of life, working with other professionals and services within Waltham Forest to ensure the best outcomes. The team includes Reablement Officers, Senior Reablement Officers, Social Worker, Social Work Assistants, Occupational Therapists and a Physiotherapist.

As a Senior Reablement Officer, your role will include taking referrals from the team screeners, assessing, gather feedback and review service users and setting up and amend support plans on your own or together with a therapist. In partnership with clients you will be able to identify and set appropriate goals in order to maximise independence and quality of life. You will refer to other services where appropriate and document according to current practices using Framework I. You will line manage a number of Reablement Officers in the field. This will include regular supervision, appraisals and personnel issues for example holidays, mileage claims, absence monitoring.

We are looking for a dynamic, flexible person with a good understanding of the reablement concept, excellent communication skills and who is willing to continue developing themselves and the service we provide to clients.

The role may include covering an out of hours rota during absence.

You will need to have NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care Level 3 or above or equivalent demonstrable experience relevant to the role.

An enhanced DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formally known as CRB) and the Children's and Adults’ Barred List checks will be required for this role.
