Vacancy Description

Role:               IT Technician

Salary:           Scale 4 (SCP 18 – 21)

Grade:         £19,917 - £21,984  

Permanent Role - Full time (52 weeks per year), 36 hours per week.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Technician to join a growing Trust and to further develop the outstanding IT provision in place across all our schools. The Board of Directors for the Lion Education Trust are seeking to appoint an IT Technician who has the ability, and drive, to develop IT across many schools within the Trust.

This is a permanent appointment to the Academy Trust, which is made up of a dynamic group of schools currently across six sites with c250 staff and c2, 300 pupils. IT is at the core of the educational and operational offer of the Trust and the development of the platforms and services we have in place are key strategic drivers for the organisation.

We are looking for an outstanding candidate who can:  

  • Support the development of a new team within the Trust and embed central IT practice
  • Support the IT Leaders in schools and maintain the network, hardware, software and infrastructure to ensure smooth operation of all IT equipment, website, emails, licences and Virtual Learning Environment Platforms.
  • Provide support to the administration of the IT Helpdesk under the direction of the IT Network Manager.
  • Promote the school in a positive manner at all times and share in the corporate responsibility for the well-being and safeguarding of all pupils.  

The successful candidate will also have knowledge of Microsoft, Google applications and solutions, cloud based technology, Apple and multimedia equipment.
