Violence Against Women and Girls Senior Programme Manager (2 year fixed term post)
Waltham Forest Council and its key partners have identified tackling Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) as one of the key, cross cutting strategic priorities for the Borough. The Council is therefore looking for a highly, experienced, motivated and dedicated individual to lead and manage the borough’s VAWG Programme.
This role presents the chance to lead a growing and innovative area of business within Waltham Forest that will ensure communities, victims, practitioners and our partners identify and work together to tackle all forms of VAWG. You will be working through a holistic ‘whole family approach’, developing a strengths-based, needs-led partnership model to support victims and their families which enables sustainable and transformative change for whole families, including holding perpetrators accountable, whilst offering opportunities to change their behaviour.
This role will ensure that of Waltham Forest’s VAWG offer is at the forefront of best practice and fully delivered, and that the partnership continues to explore and develop innovative approaches to impact positively on the VAWG agenda. You will also be responsible for identifying and securing additional income streams to further enhance our offer and to further develop our understanding of the local, national and international context of VAWG.
You will have at least three years’ experience working at a senior level within Community Safety, VAWG organisations or a similar setting and have similar experience in delivering projects which have proven positive impacts on VAWG. You will fully understand what VAWG is and what legislative framework sits around these areas.
You will be expected to lead, challenge and deliver our work with immediate effect.
