Waltham Forest Adult Learning Service is the local authority’s direct provider of adult education and work-based training. Officially rated as “Good” following our OFSTED inspection in July 2016, we are on a journey to “Outstanding.”
To ensure we are successful in the next stage of our journey we are looking to appoint an accomplished Senior Programme Manager for our English, Maths, Employability, IT and Business provision.

This is a key leadership role within the service and it is essential that you can demonstrate the ability to lead quality improvement strategies designed to improve student success and progression, together with the ability to work with and motivate others. The successful applicant will be responsible for the organisation and delivery of a range of high quality English, Maths, Employability, IT and Business programmes with a particular focus on embedding core skills (functional skills and employability) across vocational provision.
You will have worked at management level and be able to:
plan and organise a programme of courses
provide day to day operational management of the programme
ensure delivery of high quality teaching, learning and assessment, and drive quality improvement
monitor and evaluate the programme ensuring a balance of provision consistent with the needs of the local community and service priorities
manage a diverse teaching team through regular team meetings, CPD and appraisal processes
effectively manage budgets
prepare reports using statistical information as required
